What is marine collagen?Updated 22 days ago

Marine collagen is a fibrous structural protein extracted from the skin, scales, or bones of marine organisms, especially fish.

Compared to collagen from terrestrial animals (e.g., bovine or porcine), marine collagen has a higher bioavailability, as it comes in the form of low-molecular-weight peptides (hydrolysate).

Thanks to its smaller molecular size, it can be absorbed more efficiently and utilized by the body.

Studies show that oral supplementation with marine collagen may support skin elasticity, moisture balance, and wrinkle reduction by stimulating the body’s own collagen production and strengthening the extracellular matrix of the skin.
