Interactions with medicinesUpdated 8 months ago
Can there be interactions with medicines?
In principle, food supplements with bacterial cultures have virtually no interactions with other medications. Nevertheless, we would recommend that you check with your doctor before taking them. We can provide the following assessment for some medications:
Thyroid medication / L-thyroxine: It is actually not advisable to take thyroid medication at the same time as dietary supplements containing iron. From our side, however, we can tell you that the L-thyroxine preparations have priority and that it is possible to take the Dailybacs 4 hours after taking the L-thyroxine. Although we recommend taking the Dailybacs in the morning, this is not obligatory. It is also perfectly fine if you take them at a later time.
SSRIs (antidepressants): Good Mood should never be taken together with SSRIs. Our Good Mood AddOn contains L-tryptophan, a precursor of serotonin. If a serotonin reuptake inhibitor is also taken, the dangerous serotonin syndrome can occur in rare cases due to an excessively high serotonin level. It is therefore not advisable to take it at the same time.
Siofor (metformin): You can take the Dailybacs and also the Dietbacs without any concerns. Studies have even shown that a balanced gut microbiome has an influence on the course of type 2 diabetes. If the gut microbiome is not balanced, this has been identified as a factor in the rapid progression of insulin resistance.
Contraceptive pill: Our products can be taken together with the contraceptive pill without causing a reduction in the effectiveness of the pill. We recommend taking our products on an empty stomach with a glass of water. It is best to continue taking the pill at your usual time of day and integrate our products at another time during the day - there is no risk of a reduced positive effect, neither from the pill nor from mybacs!
You can take our dailybacs and antibiotics at the same time.
